Will ______ for Retail!

So lately I've been going a little trigger happy with the wallet (pretend that my wallet is a gun for this metaphor to work effectively). I've noticed a direct correlation between me quitting drinking and me spending a copious amount of money on clothing instead of bar tabs. Money which, most of the time, I don't really have. But now, instead of a hangover, I wake up the next day with a whole new outfit to wear. It's a win-win situation.

I've come to find that I like clothes. Whenever I was a self-acclaimed hippie, I thought that caring about clothes was petty and directly sustaining the ever-shallow sentiments of American culture. Which I guess is arguable enough. But this was also when I didn't brush my hair and often dressed like a 12-year-old boy...

At the ripe age of 22, however, I have come to believe in a power greater than myself. I have found God and resale shops. I enter through the doors of Buffalo Exchange, and I am overcome by the spirit of the thrift store. My heart and mind become one as I carefully engage in the sacraments of shirts and shoes. One mustn't be hasty though; good things come to those who wait...and to those who are willing to dig through a pile of reject Lisa Frank shirts and "Members Only" jackets. With some earnest scavenging and a general goal in mind, one can walk away from the Goodwill with a bagful of gems.

Here are some testaments to my newfound religion of sorts:

Steve Madden pumps - $10!
Buffalo Exchange on W. 19th Street

Lucca Couture skort - $15
Buffalo Exchange on Westheimer

Old Navy tee
Don't remember how much it cost,
But it was probably cheap since I bought it
solely to go with the skort
Buffalo Exchange on Westheimer

Good luck on your hunt for reasonably-priced retail!
Post any cool finds.
